Dr. David Xu is the H. Russell Bomhoff Endowed Professor at Wichita State University and an associate professor of management information systems at the W. Frank Barton School of Business in WSU. He mainly teaches MBA database planning and management, business application development, human-computer interaction, and management information systems. David is interested in conducting research in areas of decision support systems, social media, adoption and diffusion of IT innovations, and mobile commerce.
David’s research has been published in over ten different high-quality journals including MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, and Strategic Information Systems.
At WSU he won the Faculty Risk-Taker Award in 2017 and the Young Faculty Scholar Award in 2015 for excellent university research and teaching. He also received the Researcher/Writer of the Year Award from the Barton School of Business in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.
David received his Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in 2011.
Before entering academics, he worked in HSBC Bank, a financial services company, as well as a petroleum company.
