Dr. Belt retired as an Associate Professor and Chairman of the Management Department in the Barton School of Business at Wichita State University. Throughout his academic career he conducted both basic and applied research in management. He authored over 50 scholarly works, in addition to serving as a consultant to numerous firms in Kansas. While at Wichita State University, Dr. Belt was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award by the Kansas Regents, was selected as one of five Outstanding Teachers at W.S.U. by the Academy of Effective Teaching, won the Barton School’s Teacher of the Year Award, and received the Nation’s Outstanding Educator Award by the Society for Human Resource Management.
Dr. John Belt received his BS degree from the University of Southern California and his Ph.D. from Texas Tech University. He had several years of managerial experience in industry between his undergraduate and graduate work. Dr. Belt was a National Science Foundation Fellow at Texas Tech where he received his Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology.
Dr. Belt continues to be very active in management development and offers 20-30 workshops throughout the year.
