What time does class start?
All CMD sessions start at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m. A light breakfast and a delicious lunch are provided each training day.
Where is the training center?
The CMD training center is on the campus of Wichita State University, in the basement of the Woodman Alumni Building. 2017 CMD Parking Map
Where do I park? Do I need a permit?
The map below will contain driving directions into the city of Wichita, and onto the campus of WSU, guiding you to the Woodman Alumni Center and the appropriate parking.
When attending a CMD class, you can park in one of two areas.
- The parking area that lies to the west of the Mike Oatman Drive, which is next to Eck Baseball Stadium.
- The large parking lot on the east side of Mike Oatman Drive.
Both of these areas are designated as Green/Yellow and can be parked in by visitors.
Place either your confirmation letter or your map on the dash of your car to avoid a parking ticket.
We ask that you don’t back into the stall, and that you do not park in:
- a RED Tag reserved spot
- a VISITOR reserved spot
- a Prospective Student spot
- a handicapped spot (without proper identification)
Bring your license tag number with you to the training room, and CMD will register your car on campus for you at no additional cost. The University is using the U-Park System and collects a $5 fee for visitor parking.

What are CEUs? What are PDUs?
A CEU is a Continuing Education Unit. Every hour in the classroom is worth .1 of a CEU. Often people who are certified by a governing body, need to take educational programs to keep their certifications current. The certifications will call for a certain number of CEU’s to keep the persons certification current, so that they don’t have to retest. A PDU is a Personal Development Unit, and is specific to someone who has a Project Management certificate.
Does a CMD class typically qualify for CPE (Continuing Professional Education) hours under the laws of Kansas for CPA’s?
The Center for Management Development is not a sponsor for the State of Kansas. Please contact the local licensing board for specific qualifications and additional information.
After I complete my Supervisor certificate, can I choose any 5 seminars to get the Management Certificate? Or is there specific classes I have to take?
You can choose any class in the CMD schedule. We recommend you choose classes that will help strengthen your skills and compliment your tasks at work, but you may choose any of them.
What happens in bad weather? How do I know if class is cancelled?
The Center for Management Development’s inclement weather policy follows that of Wichita State University. If Wichita State University is closed, CMD will NOT hold class. Wichita State’s closing is always listed on the local news channels. You can also visit http://www.wichita.edu The University also has an inclement weather line you can call – 316-978-6633
If a class has to be cancelled, CMD will contact you with a reschedule date within 3 to 5 working days of the original class date.
